Pvt. Ltd. (Sam Link Group) has launched Arabian
Sea King, which will sail from Mumbai
Goa from Ferry wharf passenger terminal at
Mumbai port.
    The Swedish-built
catamaran can seat 225 people. The eight-hour
journey covering a distance of 225 nautical
miles at a cruising speed of 30 knots will
cost between Rs.1,700/- to Rs.2,200/- . Sailing
from Panaji will be from RND Jetty. |

Mr.Chaitanya Chowgule has won the National
Optimist crown! |
    Mr.Chaitanya
Chowgule has won the National Optimist crown
in the Provogue Coastal National Optimist
sailing championship. The other notable sailors
from Goa are Mr.Xerxes Bamboat & Mr.Hakim
Sabir. Ms.Zeal Kapadia was first, and Trisha
Sabir 2nd in the girls' section. |

A private yacht club to open in Mumbai! |
    A private
yacht club will be opening shortly in Bombay.
The members will enjoy access to India's first
luxury trideck mega yacht,. They will also
have an exclusive access to a fleet of yachts,
and speedboats.
    Unlimited
Memberships have been offered at Rs.90,000/-
for 15 months.

India to claim 350-mile extended Economic
zone |
|    
India's exclusive Economic Zone (which is
the ocean band around India) is currently
200 nautical mile. India will apply to the
UN commission to extend her Economic Zone
upto 350 nautical miles. |

Passenger-cum-Cargo vessel for Andaman
& Nicobar |
|    
HOOGHLY Dock & Port Engineers (HDPE) will
recommission the 84.2- metre long and 14-
metre wide vessel, which will have capacity
to carry 400 passengers and 100 tonnes of
cargo. The total cost of the vessel is estimated
Rs. 76 crore. It will be ready for operation
within two years. |

National Boat Show Held Successfully at
Bolgatty Island, Kochi, Kerala - October 5-7

The National Boat Show which concluded
on 7th of October,2002 had 75 participants
who exhibited their products and services.
   
It attracted 532 foreign and 324 domestic
visitors. Tourism officials from various
states and Kerala Police were visiting
from the Government sector.

R Mahesh returned back from Busan with
Bronze Medals for sailing in the Asian
Games. |

1) Jetty no.1 is for all economy
class boats plying to the Elephanta
island.
2) Jetty no.2 is for launches
leaving for Mandava and catmaran
services to Vashi and Belapur.
3) Jetty no.3 is reserved for
small launches for harbour cruising.
4) Jetty no.4 is for larger
launches on a cruise. The INS
Vikrant, which is now a museum
is harboured at this gate.
5) Only Jetty no.2 is a non-tidal
point ie. launches can be anchored
here irrespective of the tide
(high or low).
